The blue waves in the East Sea are la mar in my heart.
The glow of sunset in the Yellow Sea is el mar,
In my mother.
It's the native place of the Korean people,
And the people's self-respect.
The rocking heavy waves are their cries.
The white spray is my praying heart.
Which 32 sons are allowed you,
The ancient feature's for you.
You are a draw in the East Sea.
Don't lie down on your job, please!
I rate you high.
It's a territory raised in the Korea from A.D. 512.
You look like a million dollars and are rich.
You are a fly on the wheel in the East Sea,
As a good loser.

The white seagulls around you,
They are with you today, too.
From your face which has got crow's feet,

19. 동해(東海)의 고도(孤島), 독도(獨島)

동해(東海)의 푸른 물결, 내마음의 라마르.
황해(黃海의) 저녁놀, 어머니의 엘 마르.
독도(獨島)는 한민족(韓民族)의 마음의 고향(故鄕),
그리고 민족(民族)의 자존심(自尊心).
일렁이는 세찬 파도(波濤) 국민(國民)의 함성(喊聲).
햐얀 물보라 나의 기구(祈求)하는 마음.
32개의 자식(子息)을 거느린,
태고(太古)의 그 자태(姿態).
그대는 동해(東海)의 지킴이.
제발 너의 하는일을 게을리 해선 안 된다!
난 너를 중요(重要)하게 생각(生覺)하고 있다.
독도(獨島)는 서기(西紀) 512년(年)부터,
한국(韓國)의 고유영토(固有領土).
매우 아름답고 흥미(興味)로운 섬.
동해(東海)에 말없이 우뚝선 그대.
그대는 동해(東海)의 지킴이.
제발 너의 하는일을 게을리 해선 안 된다!
난 너를 중요(重要)하게 생각(生覺)하고 있다.
꺼억, 꺼억! 꺼억, 꺼억!
그대를 애워싼 하얀 갈매기떼,
오늘도 그대와 함께 하나니.
